Oh So Blue...And White Too!

Can you believe it is already the end of November and Thanksgiving is in just 3 days. I can't wait. Today being Tuesday it is time for another challenge over at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations. This week is a really fun color challenge for everyone to play, blue and white or blue and silver. I happen to think that blue is one of the best colors ever created so I jumped at the chance to create a card in it!

Isn't this Magnolia snowman just the cutest. I just love that they also make a matching snowflake for the one that the snowman is holding. I stamped the side panel in different shades of blue ones to accent the image. I can't believe that I bought them lst year and are just getting around to using them now. I also had to include lots of blue gems, pearls and glitter! At my LSS they had these great clear snowflake buttons (the 2 at the corners of my image) that I colored blue with my Copics and added a pearl in the center. Don't you just love when find something that is fun to use as an added surprise!

All the DT love the color blue because it shows in the fabulous creations that they have created to inspire you this week. Be sure to stop by their blogs.

Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer?

Happy Tuesday! It is time once again for a Going Grey with Scrap-Creations challenge. This week we have a great challenge for you this week, "Song Inspired". Create something that is inspired by a favorite song. I know that especially at this time of year weall have Christmas songs floating around in your head because you hear them EVERYWHERE! We also have a fantastic sponsor this week,
I absolutely love these adorable digital stamps! They were so super nice to give the DT some really cute images to play with to inspire you. This adorable image that I used is called Bundeer. We have a bunny at our house and my daughter is always trying to put some costume on on her, so this reminded me of Bandit as soon as I saw it. Our bunny always sits or lays around the house with her feet sticking out so I popped up the feet on my image to make them stand out. I also used my new Tim Holtz snowflake border die on this card and I LOVE it! I procrastinated about buying it (even with a 50% off coupon) and boy am I glad I did!
The ladies created some adorable cards this week so be sure to stop by and check them out.

Baby's 1ST Christmas

It has been a topsy turvy week for me but like is back to normal and it is a is a beautiful weekend here in New England. With the start of the holiday season under 2 weeks away I guess you could call it the calm before the storm. I got to meet Melissa Francis Friday night at my LLS and I took a class of hers yesterday. I went with my good friends Kristen, and Pia and my sister Peggy. We all made some amazing tags and ornaments (18 total) in the class and brought home a ton of extra product from Melissa. If you ever have the chance to take one of her classes don't miss it, she is such a wealth of crafting knowledge and so very nice! We topped the day off with laughs over dinner. I plan on using what I made on some of my future cards. Don't you love good times with friends!

This card is the first Baby's First Christmas card I have ever made. I thought it would be pretty easy but then I realized most of the Christmas DP out there doesn't work well on a baby card. I looked around and found this really pretty Digi DP at Bearly Mine Designs. Her papers are gorgeous and I have never really think of using digi paper because I have so much regular DP. Boy have I found a new love. I printed it on CS so I could cut out some of the stars to use as accents around the image and saying. I guess I better ask Santa for lots of color ink cartridges.

I need to give one more shout out to Really Reasonable Ribbon. I won a gift certificate for their store. I loved their ribbons and prices so much I bought more ribbon from them. The ribbon on this card was a free sample they sent me with my order and it was something I wouldn't have picked myself. It is beautiful though and matched the DP perfectly so thank you RRR you made my day! Be sure to take a look at their store if you love ribbon like I do.

Here are some challenges that fit my card

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #85-This week their inspiration is green and red Christmas flowered cupcakes. I took my inspiration from the colors and the Christmas theme.

Who Doesn't Love Handcrafted Presents!

Happy Tuesday! OOOPS. I know it's Thursday but from Sunday night until last night life went serious. My DH got a call that his father was having chest pains and was rushed to the hospital down in Florida. It was figured out after tests that he had a blockage and need heart bypass surgery. Something like this is bad enough but waiting for news was slow and agonizing. The surgery was scheduled for Monday AM but didn't actually take place until MANY hours later. I can say things went well and he is resting, eating and hopefully getting up to move around by tonight. Family comes first so nothing got posted on time for my DT challenge on Tuesday.

Here is my post you would have read on Tuesday!

It is time for another fabulous challenge over at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations. This week we have an easy challenge for you, Christmas. Whether you think of a decorated tree , presents all wrapped, a first snowflake, Santa down the chimney, a snowman just made or anything else that comes to mind when you think of Christmas we would love to see it this week.

For this challenge I decided to try my hand at an all white card. This was very hard for me because I love color to make the card "POP" and this time I needed to rely on textures like textured CS and shimmer white CS, embossing, glitter, ribbon and embellishments. My snowflake in the corner is all white, prism(silver) and white mother of pearl. When I took the picture the camera kept making it come out with colors even though IRL it doesn't show like that. It was a surprise to me so try to imagine it sparkly not colorful!

We also have a wonderful sponsor this week Stampfairy.com. They have some of the cutest digi images in their store and they were so extremely nice to let us play with some of their cutest winter holiday images to inspire you for this challenge. They are also offering one lucky player who is chosen this week your choice of 3 adorable digis from their store. My Favorite Technique!

Happy Tuesday! It is especially great for me because we have the day off today because of voting at the schools in town. I am fighting a massive cold and NEED it gone for Saturday, the big Holiday Craft Fair is in Boston this weekend and my sisters, daughter and I go every year. I can not miss it because it is the big start to my Christmas shopping. I plan on loading up on meds and climbing back into bed to sleep the day away.

It being Tuesday means it is also time for another fantastic challenge over at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations. This week Kristen is really making it fun for everyone, the challenge is to use your favorite technique on your creation. It can be anything you love. I chose to do a shaving cream back round for my card. This is definitely my all time favorite. I have always been a fan of making my own back rounds but time doesn't always allow for it and papers are so beautiful that I usually take the quicker way out. I had so much fun Saturday doing this technique I made dozens of them in all different colors so I will have them to use for a while.

We also have an amazing sponsor this week Through The Craftroom Door. They are a new papercrafting magazine that is awesome and they are giving a 1 year subscription to one lucky winner. All you have to do is come play along with us at Going Grey this week for your chance at this fabulous prize. We can't wait to see what your favorite technique is!

I picked this one for my card because it reminded me of Fall leaves whipping in the wind with all the colors blending together as they fly through the air. This beautiful Autumn image I colored is from Karen Doodles, perfect for this time of year. Everyone of the ladies did a different technique this week and their creations are gorgeous so be sure to stop by their blogs to see what they did to inspire you.

Here are some other wonderful challenges that fit my card

Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge #73-This is the great sketch that I used to create my card.
Karen Doodles Challenge #35-This is a new challenge for me. Their challenge this week is to make a creation with the theme of "Give Thanks". It can be a Thanksgiving card, thank you card or something that you are thankful for. I am sending this card as a Thanksgiving card to a dear friend who I won't be seeing at Thanksgiving.
A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge #128-This week the challenge is "Relish to Embellish". I live to put embellishments on my creations so this challenge is perfect for me!
Incy Wincy Designs Challenge 66-This week the challenge is "Anything Goes". I love all the creativity that this challenge shows us!

Lollipop Crafts Challenge #14-This challenge is "Embossing" this week. I embossed the back panel of my card with the pumpkin patch Cuttlebug embossing folder.
Ooh La La Challenge #66-This week their challenge is "Remember Remember". I took this challenge two different ways, the first was the technique I used Shaving Cream Back Round. It was one of the very first things I learned when I started papercrafted many years ago. The second remember was a memory from the image, his mother had a wheelbarrow in the front of their house when I first started dating him 35+ years ago. Every Fall she would fill it with everything nature and it looked beautiful!
The One Stop Craft Challenge #104-This week their challenge is "Anything Goes" and to add to the fun a "Blog Hop".
Paper Pretties Challenge #27-This week their challenge is all about being "SQUARE", make a creation that is square. I love to make square cards so this was fun!

Stampin' B's Design Team Challenge #82-This challenge is to make a Thanksgiving card that has pumpkins on it. Wonderful challenge.

The Paper Players Challenge #22-This week is another great and fun challenge "Anything Goes". A great way to show off your creativity!
Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #24-This week "Give Thanks" is their challenge, create a Thanksgiving card or anything that reflects the theme. Great theme for a challenge!
