The Lion King Going Grey with Scrap-Creations Challenge

Happy Tuesday once again! It is time for another challenge over at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations! This week the challenge is a really fun one. You are being challenged to create a project or card inspired by a movie. This was tricky for me since I hardly ever watch movies, I would rather be crafting and when the TV is on I am a reality TV junkie or watching sports with husband. I am sure lots of you clever crafters have lots of ideas swirling around for this challenge so be sure to hop over to Scrap- Creations and play along with us this week!

I went about this challenge a bit differently. I first looked at what stamps and images I had then looked through all the videos we have here at home. I thought maybe one of the many hockey ones that I love on a snowy day, or maybe a comedy or thriller that my kids love. Then I saw The Lion King. I know it is an oldie but it was a favorite here for a long time. We watched it so much that I thought we wore it out. I then realized this Crissy Armstrong's Squigglefly lion family digi was perfect for the movie. This is the finished creation I did for the challenge. What do you think, were these two a perfect fit for a movie inspiration challenge?

The ladies this week really were inspired by their pick of favorite movies so be sure to stop by and check out their creations, you'll love them all!

Happpy Fall! Going Grey Challenge with Fred She Said

Hello everyone! Happy Tuesday! I am so glad it is Tuesday because that means it is time for another challenge over at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations. This week we are celebrating the season. Fall is one of my favorite seasons. The weather is cooling down and the colors here in New England are simply gorgeous. I love seeing all the leaves turning and everyone decorating with mums, pumpkins, scarecrows, and corn stalks tied with big Fall bows. So Going Grey's Challenge this week is AUTUMN.

We also have a fabulous sponsor this week, Fred She Said Digital Stamps

I used two of these wonderful images to create my card. I fell in love with wheelbarrow a while ago and then when I saw the pumpkins and sunflower arrangement I knew they would go great together. To make the flowers in the wheelbarrow look fallish I colored them then put yellow, purple, red and Autumn mix Flower Soft on them. I finished it off with punched out leaves from fall DP CS that I brushed with Stickles and left them popping out of the Flowers Soft. It is hard to see in the pic but this card SPARKLES so much. All the leaves have orange Stickles, the sunflower centers are also Stickled. One of the panels of DP are glittered dots and the flower buttons are glitter also.

Tracy has graciously given each of the DTs a Fall image to use as inspiration for you this week. The fantastic prize being offered this week from Fred She Said's Digital Store . So don't you want to come play with us this week! The design team as really done a fantastic job on their creations so be sure to stop by their blogs.

Autumn Love

Happy Monday! Fall is in the air here in New England and it is wonderful. I love fall colors and especially when making cards. I was picked to be a guest DT for My Partner in Crafting Crime Challenge blog this week. They have a fantastic twist on the usual challenge blogs. The winner of the challenge every other week is asked to be a guest DT and is interviewed for the "Interrogation Room". It is fun to see what other people think about papercrafting, what products they use, and what inspires them when they create. It is run by to wonderfully creative ladies, Jenny and Robin, so be sure to stop by and check out their blog.

This week's challenge is a recipe for them. They asked that I use 2 DPs, 3 different embellishments, and something that I would never think to use on my creation. This was tough for me. I pretty much had my card done and then realized I couldn't put my finger on anything that would fit on the card. On Labor Day weekend I went to Newburyport, Ma with my sisters and daughter. We were poking around in the litle gift shops and I usually buy some candles there every year. I picked up some wonderful smelling soybean candle beads thinking I would try some for home and then realized maybe I could use these on my card. If you look at the wreath you will see green half beads on it. The scent is Earthly Embrace and they are a fairly strong smell. So I used Crystal Effects and glued them on, now when you hold the card it has a nature smell that goes perfect with the theme of the card. It has been a week now and it hasn't hurt the card and still smells wonderful. So that is what I used as my something that I have never used on a card! I think this was a great idea for a recipe and I can't wait to see what everyone else uses on their creations!

These are some other wonderful challenges that fit my card
Allsorts Challenge Week 69-This week their challenge is to use the "Colors of Autumn" on your creation.
Paper Sundaes Challenge #35-This week they would like us to use a minimum of 3 different embellishments, I used ribbon, pins, brads, and soybean candle beads.
Speedy The Cat's Challenge #20-This week the challenge is to use "Fall Colors" on your card. I love fall colors!
Southern Girls Challenge #1-This is their very first challenge and their fun theme for the challenge is "Anything Goes". Great way to start off!
Truly Scrumptious Challenge 40-This is the wonderful sketch that I used to create my card. They also had a option of using a knot on your card. There is a knot in the center of my bow because I make my bows using the Bow Easy and I knot it at the end.
Aly's Sunday Challenge ASC25-This week the challenge is "Sparkle and Glitter". I used shiny copper brads and lots of platinum Stickles all over my wreath. For lots of sparkle on my card!
Creative Belli Blog Challenge #99-This week their challenge is to use your "Old Stamps". I used one of the first Rubber Stamp Tapestry sets I bought. I have had them for 3 years at the least and they are still one of my favorite seasonal stamps.
Paper Pretties Wednesday Challenge-For this challenge they would like to see "Brads or Eyelets" on your creation. I used lots of copper brads on mine. This is also my first time playing this great challenge, so glad I found it!
Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #16-This is another wonderful new challenge blog for me. They have a theme of "Celebrate Fall" for their challenge this week.
The Paper Players Challenge #15-This week they have a color challenge for us, Old Olive, More Mustard, Cajun Craze, and Early Espresso. I didn't have those colors exactly but I think I'm close.

These are all wonderful challenges, so be sure to stop by, check them out and even play along!

Thanks for stopping by today to see what I created. I really appreciate all the wonderful comments that you leave for me to read.

Happy Tuesday!!! Today is the first day of school for me! I am thrilled to be working in a second grade classroom this year with some wonderful kiddos. It is also time for another fantastic challenge at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations! This week our challenge is an easy one I think, the theme is "For a Child". We have a wonderful sponsor this week The Wild Flower Patch. They have some of the most adorable images I've seen including Wild Flower Kids Digis and they were gracious enough to give the DT some to use to inspire you this week! Be sure to check out their store! One lucky person will win 5 digis of their choice from The Wild Flower Patch.

I made this card for one of the boys that moved up to middle school this year. He was so nervous about leaving our school and moving up that I told him I was going to write to him right after school started in Sept. and let him know he did great the first few days of school! He'll just be happy to know I was thinking of him! He was a bit of a daredevil so I thought this boy with the skateboard was perfect for him. I tried to give his shirt a tye die look using just the orange. What do you think?

Happy Birthday Sis!

Here is a close-up of the image. I hope you can see all the sparkle on the flowers from the Stickles I used on them.Well it is a sunny Saturday and we were suppose to see some of the signs of Hurricane Earl here in MA but luckily all we got here in the NE part of the state was some much needed rain. Working for the school system we get both yesterday and Monday off for the long holiday weekend so it gives me some time to finish up some cards and still enjoy the weekend.

Today is my sister Peggy's BDay. This is the card I made for her. I always try to do or use something that she hasn't seen on my other cards because she also makes cards and is use to how I make my cards. I made the design on the white shimmer paper with my new Scor Buddy and used the Pearl Pen that we both bought last weekend on a stamping roadtrip with Pia and Kristen our other stamping friends. I don't think she has tried this yet. I bought this beautiful stamp from Our Daily Bread early in June at the Stamping Convention but decided to wait to use it until I made her card. I just finished the card yesterday just in time to give it to her today!
