Trick or Treating with my BFF! Going Grey Halloween Challenge

WOW! It is the last day of August. Where has the summer gone. Though here in New England we are having another heat wave. It is a good reason to stay in the AC and play with us at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations! Being Tuesday it is time for our 25th challenge. This week we are celebrating HALLOWEEN! I think that this is Kristen's (Scrap-Creations) favorite holiday. She loves crafting Halloween things. There's Always Room...

Happy Friday!!! It is a beautiful day here in New England. It is a perfect day that is not going to last because starting Sunday it is going back to the 90s and humid. I have 1 week left and then I am back to school. I am looking forward to it, I miss being around all the kids.

This card I made last weekend when I was stamping with friends(So much FUN). I needed to tweek it a bit though before I posted it. I am not really a red person but I do love this color combo on this card. I love this digi from Phindy's Place. The DP came from a LSS (fantastic store) that is a day trip for us up in Dover, NH. I don't have any idea who makes it (no name on it) and it is semi-shiny and comes in a 81/2x11 sheet. It is this DP that inspired me to make this card and I don't think it is anything like what I usually do. I made it for a teacher and friend that retired recently. She would always say at lunch, "Pull up a chair there's always room for one more at the table."

Here are some challenges that fit my card

By The Cute and Girlie August Challenge-This month the challenge is "Animal Antics", what a fun theme!

A Crafty Little Place Challenge #53-This is a new challenge blog for me. Their challenge is to use "Food" as the theme this week. Strawberries and chocolate two of my favorite foods!
Stampavie And More Challenge #105-This week the challenge is to use "Swirls". I have green swirls in the back round and I embossed the red CS with swirls!

Going Sassy with Going Grey with Scrap-Creations

Happy Tuesday! It is time for another challenge over at Going Grey With Scrap-Creations! Before I tell you what the challenge is I have some NEWS. When the Going Grey Challenge was created it was to have fun creating a card or item using Basic Grey DP because we all love it. We have now decided that the challenge will now no longer require everyone that plays to use the Basic Grey DP. We are hoping by doing this more of you will be able to play along. We will still have fun weekly challenges and awesome sponsors with prizes for you to win as well as our "Top 3 " picks! I hope you feel this will make it easier to play along because we enjoy all your creations!

Now a bit of sad news for us, Crystal Irwin has decided to step down as one of the DT for Going Grey with Scrap-Creations. We hate to see her leave and wish her many happy new adventures! Going Grey is now looking for 2 new DT to join our challenge family! If you are interested hop over to Scrap-Creations for all the details!

Birthday Wishes!

Happy Friday! I am so looking forward to the weekend. I am now counting down the days until I go back to work (I work in the school system). This summer has flown by. Tomorrow I am getting together with my stamping friends for a day of creating and laughing. We have so much fun and do get some cards or scrap booking done before we call it a night! It will be a great way to finish off the summer.

My son's 26Th birthday was yesterday. If anyone saw an earlier post I made him a card with the Kenny K hockey player on it. I really liked the card but my DH thought it should be a goalie not a skater because Bryan never played anything but goal. I wasn't going to make another card until I saw these new images from Kenny K. Bryan is always talking about girls being more trouble that there worth when they want something serious from him. His business is the only thing that gets most of his attention and it drives the girls crazy! I decided to make him this birthday card so he could have a hot girl that wasn't going to give him any complaining. He was shocked when he opened it because it wasn't a "MOM" card and then thanked me for getting him Pamela Anderson for his birthday! You can't tell from the pic but the turquoise stripes are shiny to add lots of pizazz to the card! It is a card that won't be forgotten!

Here are some fantastic challenges that fit this card

Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge #6-This week the challenge is "Bold and Bright". This card is definitely that though it is card to capture it in the picure.
Anything Goes Challenge Week 12-The challenge this week is to use "3 Layers on your card". I have at least 3 of them!
Stamp Something Challenge-This week the challenge is "Aug. Digi Day". I used a Kenny K Digi and the car is one I forgot the name.
Simple Doodles Challenge #24-"Come Let's Celebrate" is the challenge this week. I am using a B'Day as my celebration!
Creative Belli Challenge 98-This challenge wants us to use something that is "Round and Metal" on our creation. I used brads that that look like screws.
Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 27-"It's Our Birthday!" is the challenge. They would like us to create a B'Day card for this challenge.
Paper Romance Challenge #12-"Metal Heads" is the challenge this week. Use a metal embellishment on your creation. I used the metal screw brads!
Digital Tuesday Challenge #72-"Use Your Scraps" is the challenge! This was a great challenge because is you took off the layers of this card you would see that the blue dotted paper has been used to punch some flowers. I love this Bo Bunny DP so I didn't throw it out in case I needed a little piece. I didn't think my son would be taking the card apart so he wouldn't notice the holes in the paper!
Creative Inspirations Challenge #74-This challenge is the fantastic "Sketch" that I used on my card.
Digi Doodles Shop's Beast Challenge-"Anything, I Say Anything Goes" is the challenge. This is so fun to see what everyone creates!
Stamps R Us Challenge #2-This challenge blog is a new one for me! They would like us to make an male inspired creation.!
Stampin' For The Weekend Challenge 45-This week their challenge is the popular and fun "Anything Goes". Always a fan favorite!

These are fantastic challenges that they all work hard on so that we can play with them and enjoy all their inspiration that they leave for us to enjoy. Be sure to stop by and play along!

Cool Summer Fun

It's Friday, It's Friday! It is beautiful here in New England. We can finally open the windows and shut off the AC, at least for the weekend! I am loving these Kenny K digis so much. When they first came out this was the very first one I bought. We have a couple of really yummy ice cream stands close to the house so my kids are always at one of them eating ice cream. So when I saw this image I thought of them immediately and couldn't resist buying it.

I colored this as soon as I caught it but had an awful time finding DP to go with it. I didn't think it was exactly a floral type of image, I wanted more teenage or edgy feel for the card. All of a sudden the other day when I was cleaning up my stamp area I saw the reinkers and knew they would make the perfect back round for her. I forgot how much fun it is making a shaving cream design. I used 2 different pinks and black for it. I also double dipped parts of it for some some fuzzy places. I am really glad I waited until I found something I liked for this image and didn't settle for something I wasn't crazy about, KWIM? I would really like to know what you think of the shaving cream back round.

Here are some challenges that fit my card
Donna's Den of Crafts Challenge #5-This week the challenge is "Something Sweet". Fun theme to play along with!

I Did It Creations Challenge #17-This is a challenge that is always liked "Anything Goes" is this week!
If The Shoe Fits, Fashionista Friday Challenge #43-"Diecuts" is the challenge this week. I used my Coluzzle to cut the large ovals and my Nesties to cut the circles.
Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge #5-Their challenge this week is "Summertime". Really fun challenge to play!

Back To School, Going Grey With Scrap- Creations Challenge

Happy Tuesday! It is time for another challenge at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations. Congratulations to all the winners of the Kenny K digis last week, have fun playing with them!
This week the challenge for Going Grey is Back To School! It won't be long before all the kids and myself go back to school. I picked these two images from Moe's Digital Pencil. When I am driving to school on the first day this is what all the bus stops look like, the kids holding their stuff patiently waiting for the bus. By the third day their stuff is all over the ground and they are running around!

For this theme I found it really hard to use Basic Grey paper for this challenge. Primary colors aren't my choice of colors most of the time but school screams for them. This was the closest I could come and still be happy with what I created. I painted and then sealed with a gloss the chipboard letters. The apple in the corner is a brad that I have been saving for a school card. Don't you like when a challenge pushes you out of your comfort zone and that's what it is all about, KWIM?

The ladies have made some fantastic "school" creations to inspire you. Be sure to let them know how much you like their cards.

Here are some other great challenges that fit my card

Couldn't Wait! Scrap-Creations Challenge with Kenny K

Happy Tuesday! It is time for another challenge over at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations! This week the challenge is a fun one with a really great prize. It is hard to believe that it is already challenge # 21 and the theme for this week is ANYTHING GOES! You can create whatever you like. The DT have created some gorgeous creations to inspire you using digi stamps from our sponsor this week Kenny K Downloads. You can win some of these fabulous stamps by playing along with us.
1st Place-3 Kenny K digis

3rd Place-1 Kenny K digi
I absolutely love all his images they are so much fun to create with. I thought these divas were the best until I played with the hockey player last week and fell in love with the sports digis! He just released a new set of sexy cuties called Gothik Angelz that are fabulous, I can't wait to get some of them!

For this challenge because it is anything goes I decided to make two cards with Kenny K images for the challenge trying to get two totally different looks from images from the Clam Gang series.

When I saw this girl with the cell phone I knew I could have some fun with it so that is how the sayings on the card came about. A perfect card for a stamping friend! The second card is more sofisticated with a touch of sweetness. Both were so much fun to create with these wonderful images, be sure to check our his store here.
